Fluffy basmati rice flavoured with cumin, garlic and turmeric.

Ingredients

3 tbsp

vegetable oil

1 tsp

cumin seeds

2 cloves

garlic, finely chopped

onion, finely chopped

chillies, (optional)

1/2 tsp

ground turmeric

1/2 tsp

chilli powder, (or to taste)

3/4 tsp

salt, (or to taste)

3 cups

cooked rice

3 tbsp

coriander, finely chopped

Method

1. Heat oil in a pan over a medium heat.
2. Add cumin seeds and when they begin to sizzle add the garlic and cook for 30 seconds.
3. Add the onions, and cook for 2-3 minutes or until translucent.
4. Stir in the chillies (if using), turmeric and chilli powder.
5. Add the salt and cooked rice, mix well.
6. Garnish with coriander, remove from the heat and serve.
